Q: How can I increase my earnings?

A:  We are now encouraging rich media. That means interactive banners and/or popup banners. You will earn more for displaying these banners because of higher sell through but you must have our most recent code on your site to participate. In addition you may enter default banners on your account so that when a paid banner is unavailable, you may display the banner of your choice from other ad networks or from your own creation.

Q: Why does my earning rate change?

A:  Your earnings rate is set at the beginning of each month. Your rate is calculated according to market conditions and advertiser interest. Please check your stats at the start of each month to find out what your earnings rate will be for the month.

Q: Why are defaults being subtracted from my totals?

A:  Because of market conditions (the great dot com shakeout), advertisers are more than ever less inclined to advertise as much as they used to. Because of this we see less and less paid ads being available to serve to you. In the event there are no more paid ads to display, BannerMania has decided to allow you to display your own ad. This way you are able to provide your own advertiser as a default OR you may use your own self created banner to fill your ad spot. As the year progresses and advertisers begin to revamp budgets and marketing plans you will see default banners become less and less in numbers.

Q: When and how do I get paid?

A: You get paid for displaying banner ads on your website. The more ads you display the more money you make. You will be paid initially after the first 90 days when you have earned a $50 minimum payout. After that you will get a check in the mail every month if your balance is greater than $50. You may view your stats and how much you have earned online at any time.

Q: How are my impressions calculated?

A: If a user goes to your web page where one of our banners are displayed, you will be credited for that impression. If that user refreshes the page constantly, you will not be given credit for those impressions being refreshed. If that user skips back and forth through your pages very quickly then of course our ads are not being seen and thus you will not get credit for those impressions. We have arrived at a formula that takes into account fraud, user refreshes and other factors to determine what qualifies as a valid user impression. It is private of course to prevent publishers from fraudulently elevating their impression levels. This procedure is NECESSARY for the protection of our advertisers and our credibility. For example, in the month of February there was a publisher that had banners refreshing into the millions per week. Their web page traffic was no more than 500 users per week. They have since been removed and charged. We will say however that there is a minimum 9 second wait between credited impressions from the same ip address.

Q: How many impressions can a web site make available?

A: With a simple, two-line HTML addition to your web pages, you can supply as many or as few impressions to the Network as you choose. You can sell advertising on any or all pages in your site. We do ask, however, that you make available to us  at least one of your top ten pages and at least 2% of your total impressions.

Q: Is there any cost to me when I sign up as a Publisher?

A: No, BannerMania does not impose any setup fees.
